Cool Summer Movie: Overboard (2018) – Romantic Comedy

I’ve just watched the movie Overboard and I can definitely say it is this summer’s movie. It is a romantic comedy, co-production of America and Mexic, with sun and sky and ocean, cool music, and great vibe.

It is very sweet and funny and the actors are adorable. The plot is well written, high above your average script.

I liked it very much, but when I read the reviews on Imdb I was a bit disappointed. Lots of people didn’t appreciate this movie because it is a remake of the 1987 Overboard movie. I didn’t watch the original movie, but I watched the trailer and I can surely say I prefer the 2018’s actors and general movie atmosphere.

First of all, I can say that I absolutely loved the main characters: Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez. Anna already played in tons of cool comedies, she is sweet and professional. I didn’t know about Eugenio Derbez until now, and I was astonished to find out that he is 56 y.o. Wow.

Eva Longoria plays the supporting role really nice and brings some “spice” to the movie.

I highly recommend it for this summer!

Last time I really had the feeling that I’ve seen a “summer” movie was in 2013 when I saw The to do list. Even though the 2 movies have nothing in common except this summery feeling, both are very nice and friendly and I hope next year I will see a new, great summer movie 🙂
