Good book about the history of modern art – How to get a comprehensive idea about it
I’m not even starting about what modern art is. Probably most of you think about crazy stuff that doesn’t resemble the naturalistic depictions of Renaissance. Some say modern art started with Renaissance. Same say it started with impressionists. Some say it is the avant-garde. Some say avant-garde is dada. Some say avant-garde is transgressive art. And then there is a whole other discussion about when did it end… I personally like to think modern art as a continuous flux of change. But the modern art we have in mind when we say “modern art”, that unconvential crazy stuff like van Gogh, Picasso, Munch, Duchamp and so on, I like to think…

REVIEW: Junichiro Tanizaki – The Key (novel) – No Spoilers!
This review does not contain any spoilers. It took me a few hours to read this short novel. I hated it. Not only the story, but the whole book, its style and technique. I didn’t like how it is written, I didn’t like the mixture between the 2 journals. I think it is poorly written. There are no metaphors, no poetics, no style. The characters are very poorly developed. The writer focuses too much on stereotypes. Also, as the story flows, it becomes more and more sick and psychotic, but this doesn’t make it more interesting. I don’t recommend this book and I honestly don’t understand how it came to…

REVIEW: Marina Abramovic – Walk Through Walls: A Memoir
About Marina Abramovic and her book Marina Abramovic is a performance artist, known for pushing her limits with her body by pain and stillness. I’ve known her artwork for a while now and, although I am not a big fan of this kind of art, I always appreciated the fact that she explored other ways of expressing the emotions. By pushing her limits she also pushed the boundaries of art, and for that I appreciate her very much. When her book, titled Walk Through Walls: A Memoir, was released (25th October 2016), I was keen to read it. I bought it from Amazon for about 20$. It is not cheap, but not…

DIY Bookmark from a box of chocolate
I am a big fan of Lindt boxed chocolates. I bought this very nice looking chocolate box – Lindt Champs-Élysées. I had been wishing for it for a while and I was very happy to finally purchase it. I ate all the chocolates and they were really good, although I prefer smaller chocolates. I guess they are suitable for a bigger person, but I personally prefer them to be smaller, like those from this box: This is a box of Lindt Mini Pralines. The chocolates are half size and there are 2 chocolates of every kind, so it is really cute to share it with another person and eat the chocolates…

My first post
Hi! This is exciting! This is going to be my first post on this blog. I’ve given it some thought and I am still not sure what subject I should approach. Should it be a product review? Should it be something about art, music? Maybe a book I’ve just read? I know! It’s going to be about a gift that an unknown neighbor gave to me (or to anyone who was in the right place, at the right time). The neighbor left some books for anyone to pick them up (this is a common custom in Berlin for those who want to give some books to someone else). I looked…
