A Radio That Is Perfect for Summer
I’ve been searching for a long time a radio that I could listen in summer, something that would be kind of chill, yet dinamic, like a good house music, without the annoying rythmes, something that would also have a voice in the background. I found this radio at the local swimming pool. Since first day at this swimming pool I thought that they have really nice music but I didn’t realize it was a radio station. Next days I payed attention and I catched the phrase “Vanilla Radio”. I also realized that the hosts spoke in Greek, so yeah, it is radio station from Greece. They have several radio “flavors”:…

Something interesting: music by Laid Back, video by Lars von Trier
In 1990, the band Laid Back released “Bakerman” song. It is a very chill song and it sounds really good. The lyrics are about a man who is baking bread and about the fact that we must chill. If you think it as a metaphor, you can easily guess who the Baker Man really is 🙂 But what’s more interesting and really funny about this song is its official video, which is directed by Lars von Trier. You should watch it: You may be confused about the video, which appears to have nothing to do with the idea of a baker man. BUT, if you think it through, and…

Sigmund Freud’s favorite music album
I was re-listening the other day a very good music album and I suddenly realized that the greatest psychoanalyst of all time, Sigmund Freud, would have loved it. The album starts with a song that seems to be a twisted, gloomy children story. Then it follows a song about a man who shouts instructions and orders. Then there is a song about the sun / son – you never really know which one, but Freud would say it is about a lost son. Also, this song was released with a video in which a fairy tale princess beats the poor dwarfs. This is followed by a song in which a…

Cool sounds: Amparo Battaglia Lopez aka Catnapp (from Unorthodox)
I was watching the Netflix series “Unorthodox” when, suddenly, a great club scene came up. The music was very interesting and the singer intriguing. I had to search it. I found the Youtube video and I was surprised by the number of comments saying that, just as me, they loved it in the series and searched for it online. Unorthodox club scene music There were 2 songs in the club scene and both of them were performed by Catnapp. The first song song is called Thunder. Here it is: I didn’t post the clip from the movie because it is so good made that you should watch it entirely and…

Funny: Mystery Man – Shawn Cabello, Camila Mendes’ boyfriend
In 2019 there was this Youtube / Radio hit: Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello – Señorita. The song is nice, has a 90s vibe (reminds me of Aventura – Obsession). The video is cute too. The male singer is called Shawn Mendes and the woman is Camila Cabello. There is also a hit show called Riverdale. One of the stars is Camila Mendes. So here are 3 celebrities: Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello and Camila Mendes. There have been some jokes on the internet about Camila Mendes being the child of Shawn and Camila or that the singers got married, but the best joke is that there is somewhere a “Shawn Cabello”, who is Camila Mendes’ soul mate. Where…

Ulrike Schneider Schmid – Rammstein Christoph Schneider’s Wife
I came across this photo of Christoph Schneider and his wife, Ulrike Schneider Schmid. I’ve seen her in the past, but in this particular photo I think she looks great. She seems to be a mixture between Shirley Manson from Garbage in her youth and Eva Green. I love her make-up, both the eyes and the red lipstick, and I also like the color of the dress and her awesome nails (I also use a similar deep red color for my nails). And, of course, her attitude is pretty cool. Rammstein’s drummer, Christoph Schneider, also looks nice. I understand that she is a psychologist. How cool is that? She studied in Vienna and in…

From Dusk Till Dawn “Dance Scene” vs. Rammstein’s Engel Video
“Engel” (1997) was one of the first Rammstein videos I’ve watched. I was mesmerized by it. I particularly liked the woman’s dance with the snake and whiskey pouring part. I thought she was very very sexy. And the song was amazing. The dancer is very expressive but unfortunately I couldn’t find her name. Update: Happily, someone pointed out that the dancer’s name is CĂ©cile DĂĽtsch (here is her Linkedin account). On Rammstein Belgium (best Rammstein fan page) I found a copy from what it looks to be a magazine: Although no one knows the dancer’s name, we do know the female singer’s name. She is Christiane Bobolina Hebold. Although she doesn’t…

A Cool Song I Wish I Knew About When I Was in Highschool
A few weeks ago a friend showed me this song. I was a little bit upset and I guess he, knowing that I like rock music, thought I might like it. And OMG, yes! I did love it! The song was released in 1990 by the Spanish rock band HĂ©roes del Silencio. It is entitled “Entre dos tierras” and it means “Between two worlds”. The lyrics are a little bit ambiguous, but the point is you have to let bad stuff go (including persons…). Well, it is not really about the message. The song in itself, its melody, is heavenly… If I would have known about this band when I was…

Why is Nina Hagen so cool?
Nina Hagen is one of the most iconic female singers of all time. She has been ruling the punk scene for like 50 years. If you haven’t heard about her, here is she singing in one of her concerts: There are 2 things I particularly love about Nina Hagen: She is very original with her clothing style; She has kept her style over the years. She is also known for her outrageous behavior. For instance, here is Nina showing on Live TV how a woman can reach orgasm… I find it absolutely amazing and worthy of appreciation that she is the same person she was 40-50 years ago. Take a look…

Serge Gainsbourg, Till Lindemann and Karl Lagerfeld – An interesting mix
1. Till Lindemann When I was a teenager I found about this band called Rammstein. Someone showed me a video of Engel and I instantly fell in love with the whole band’s aesthetics. I never really thought about its lead singer, Till Lindemann. I liked the band as a whole. When I was already a young adult and I saw for the first time live this band I started to like its lead singer. On stage, he possessed an incredible energy, he discharged so much power and he was definitely enchanting. Only then I started to really like him. 2. Karl Lagerfeld Ugh, I never really cared much about this guy,…
