Something interesting: music by Laid Back, video by Lars von Trier
In 1990, the band Laid Back released “Bakerman” song. It is a very chill song and it sounds really good. The lyrics are about a man who is baking bread and about the fact that we must chill. If you think it as a metaphor, you can easily guess who the Baker Man really is 🙂 But what’s more interesting and really funny about this song is its official video, which is directed by Lars von Trier. You should watch it: You may be confused about the video, which appears to have nothing to do with the idea of a baker man. BUT, if you think it through, and…

Cool sounds: Amparo Battaglia Lopez aka Catnapp (from Unorthodox)
I was watching the Netflix series “Unorthodox” when, suddenly, a great club scene came up. The music was very interesting and the singer intriguing. I had to search it. I found the Youtube video and I was surprised by the number of comments saying that, just as me, they loved it in the series and searched for it online. Unorthodox club scene music There were 2 songs in the club scene and both of them were performed by Catnapp. The first song song is called Thunder. Here it is: I didn’t post the clip from the movie because it is so good made that you should watch it entirely and…

My List of Cartoons for Grown-Ups
This is the list of all cartoons for grown-ups that I’ve watched. I liked all of them (otherwise I wouldn’t have watched them). They are not in a particular order, although I could say that I especially liked Futurama and King of the Hill. 1. South Park Very funny and fresh. I remember tons of funny moments from it (from instance, when Stan gets vaginitis from being vegan and tiny vaginas appeared all over his skin, until he could become a giant pussy). Some seasons were better than others, but all in all they did a pretty good job. I am glad they still produce it. 2. Simpsons First I liked…

Snegurochka
In Russia, Santa Claus has a beautiful wife. Her name is Snegurochka (also called The Snow Maiden). She is lovely. They always share the gifts together. I love winter stories about winter women. I think one of the best stories is Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen”. I loved this story so much and I still find it amazing. I think Elsa from Frozen is inspired from the Snow Queen, but I don’t like (yeah, not a popular opinion) how she was drawn by Disney. I like the classy Snow Queen look, like this one: Also, here something very funny regarding Snegurochka from a once very famous cartoon (Nu zaietz, Nu pagadi…

My Daily Routine Seen Through Some Giant Cat Paintings
I’ve stumbled upon some really cute paintings that depict giant cats with their human friend. The artist’s pseudonym is Monokubo. I realised that these 3 paintings reflect my main 3 moments in a day: 1. Writing and studying So yeah, this is basically me throughout most of the day. Cats are kind of bored and sleepy, but they understand my need of silence and concentration. 2. Getting stuff done This is also me doing stuff. I love the attitude of this giant fluffy cat. He is so sure about himself. 3. Bed time OK, I wrote and I worked and now… I’m just sleepy. I will sleep on this giant fluffy…

Uma Thurman’s eyes in Pulp Fiction famous scene
There is this scene in Pulp Fiction: It always reminded me of something. Of a painting maybe, a painting of Jesus on cross maybe. I don’t know if Tarantino thought about a specific work of art when he shot this frame, but it certainly is a great great picture. An amazing picture I would say! Plus Uma Thurman’s blue eyes are mesmerising! Anyhow, the only work of art prior to Pulp Fiction, with the same exact theme, that I can think of is this photo created by Man Ray. I’m pretty sure there is also a painting of Jesus but I can’t really remember it. Maybe you know it!…

Mega super duper cute (and very talented) cat videos
Today I came across an original thing on the internet and I am very excited about it. An artist that works in video editing field uses his cat to “improve” some famous movies and tv series. Besides the fact that the final result is amazing, I also enjoyed watching the “behind the scenes” videos. The cat absolutely loves it and it is a good example against those who think that cats are hard to be trained and are stubborn. So, here is an example of “cat in the video”. The movie is John Wick. The cat’s name is Owl. The owner’s name is Thibault (Tibo) Charroppin. I think these videos show…

What does “pulp” in Pulp Fiction mean?
Pulp Fiction is one of my all time favorite movies. I’ve seen it many many times and each time I enjoyed it. It’s a brilliant movie, very catchy and interesting to watch, very original and unlike any other movie. It’s fresh, cool, glam, romantic, it has guns, beautiful girls, cool guys, interesting human characters… So, have you ever wondered what does “pulp” in Pulp Fiction mean? Well, “pulp” generally refers to the pulp of a fruit (the creamy sweet stuff inside the peel). But Pulp Fiction refers to something else. From 1896 to the 1950s there were these cheap comics names “Pulp Magazines“. The magazines were printed on wood pulp paper. Wood pulp…

Cute 3000 Years Old Women’s Sandals from Ancient Egipt + Ancient Greek Boots bonus
I always like to see in museums ancient pieces of clothing and footwear. I somehow feel they bring us closer to the ancient people, perhaps in a more intimate fashion than observing their ruins and tools. I also like to see these pieces because many times they are surprisingly similar to today’s fashion. Once again, this makes me feel closer to ancient people, considering that our mentality is not so different from theirs. For instance, I found these ancient Egyptian sandals in Neues Musem in Berlin. Even though we live in the Age of Internet, some things in which people aren’t very interested, are still scarce online. This is the…

Met Gala: Camp: Notes on Fashion (2019) – A review
Met Gala is a fund raising event that started in 1948. Celebrities meet at a themed party and have fun. The number of participants is about 700 people and a ticket costs 30.000$. The special thing about this event is that it is arty. It is held in New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Each year there is a different “theme” and the participants must dress accordingly. This year’s theme was this: Camp: Notes on Fashion (2019) Camp… oh, sweet camp. Do you remember Pink Flamingos, the movie? This is the epitome of camp. Camp is defined as “an aesthetic style and sensibility that regards something as appealing because of…
