MOVIE REVIEW: Mean Girls (2004) – One of the best
1. General thoughts about Mean Girls movie Mean Girls was preceded by some similar glamorous-mean movies as Heathers (1988), Cruel Intentions (1999) and Jawbreaker (1999) (tip for those looking for some Mean Girls similar movies). All of these movies are first class cinema creations, each one having its own personal flavor, its uniqueness, but none of them is as eloquent for the 90s – early 2000 generation as Mean Girls. For those girls born around the year 1990, Mean Girls is probably the best chick flick/ teenage movie / high school / mean girls movie ever. It also became a classic. If you have a passion for movies, then Mean…

REVIEW: Some teas from Twinings
A friend brought me from England a couple of different Twinings tea bags. I was so excited to have so many tea flavors. All of them are fruit and herbal teas (infusions) with no caffeine. I tried them all and here is what I think about them: 1. CAMOMILE, HONEY & VANILLA Twinings Tea This one I loved! A perfectly balanced taste. It feels very natural. It is velvety. A little bit sweet. It makes my tummy feel good. The smell is very pleasant, but not too powerful. I must admit that it was strangely sweet… I hope it doesn’t contain artificial sweetener. I liked it very much, I found it calming. This tea…

REVIEW: Yves Rocher Face Cream – Day ELIXIR JEUNESSE
I received a sample of this cream on my first purchase from Yves Rocher. On their website it has the following description: Yves Rocher Face Cream – Day, REPAIRS SKIN AND PROTECTS AGAINST POLLUTION, Repair + Anti-pollution, ELIXIR JEUNESSE I am not a big fan of face creams and I will probably not buy it again, but I did use it on my face and all I can say is that: The hydrating action is moderate and the skin might feel a little bit greasy afterwards. The skin absorbs it in a moderate amount of time. It is a cream, kind of thick. Definitely not a gel, a serum or…

REVIEW: The Body Shop COCONUT and SHEA shower creams
I was very excited to receive as a gift these 2 cute little shower creams: The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream and The Body Shop Shea Shower Cream. I tried each one of them once and I decided to write a review. My general opinion was that they are good products, more hydrating than regular shower gels, but a little bit too pricey for what they have to offer. I will write below my impressions about each one of these shower creams. The Body Shop -Shea Bath & Shower Cream The scent is a little bit masculine. It is very beautiful. I couldn’t say it is my all time favorite scent,…

REVIEW: Yves Rocher Brillance (Shine) Hair Conditioner
I bought this hair conditioner from a local Yves Rocher store, hoping it will make my hair soft and shiny. I payed 4 EUR on it, so it wasn’t very expensive, nor very cheap. What I liked The price is OK. It has 98% natural ingredients. The hair looks slightly shinier, although there is no miraculous effect. It has only 150ml, but it lasts long. What I disliked The first time I used it, it had an average smell. Then, it just went worse and worse. Now it smells like dead fish. Happily, the smell washes off and it doesn’t persist in the hair. Maybe the bad smell is because of…

REVIEW: Yves Rocher Exfoliating Raspberry Peppermint Shower Gel
How they describe it: THE PLEASURE OF AN EXFOLIATING SHOWER GEL WITH 100% FRUIT SEEDS AND ENERGIZING BENEFITS. Energizing Exfoliating Shower Gel – Raspberry Peppermint LES PLAISIRS NATURE Cost: 8 € What I wanted This time I really expected from my shower gel 4 things: To be exfoliating To smell nice To be natural, if not BIO at least to approach this standard To be affordable There are 2 similar products that I used before and if you click their name, you will find their reviews: Sabon Jasmine (16.00 €) and CLINIQUE Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream (€32.00). The problem with these 2 is that they are too expensive, they…

REVIEW: Junichiro Tanizaki – The Key (novel) – No Spoilers!
This review does not contain any spoilers. It took me a few hours to read this short novel. I hated it. Not only the story, but the whole book, its style and technique. I didn’t like how it is written, I didn’t like the mixture between the 2 journals. I think it is poorly written. There are no metaphors, no poetics, no style. The characters are very poorly developed. The writer focuses too much on stereotypes. Also, as the story flows, it becomes more and more sick and psychotic, but this doesn’t make it more interesting. I don’t recommend this book and I honestly don’t understand how it came to…

REVIEW: Alverde Body Butter Klostergarten from DM
I bought this Alverde body butter from DM in Berlin for about 3 EUR. The main reason I bought it was that it is kind of natural and I also loved the packaging. I liked the idea of “Klostergarten”, which means “Monastery garden”. When I bought this body butter I was reading a book by Japanese author Soseki and I thought it was funny how the colors matched between the book and the cream’s packaging. Anyhow, here are my thoughts about it: Pros It really is hydrating, so it does what it should do. If you have dry skin, it is a good cream. It has only 200ml. I usually…

REVIEW: Sabon Delicate Jasmine Body Gel Polisher
I’ve received the Sabon Delicate Jasmine Body Gel Polisher as a gift from a good friend. It is basically an exfoliating shower gel and it costs approximately $19.00. I believe paying 19 dollars for a shower gel is A LOT and the gel should do wonders at this price. I’ve taken this photo when I had already used a third of the bottle, but now, at the moment of writing the article, the bottle is empty. It was an excellent product, it smelled nice (literally “delicate”) and left the skin soft and moderately hydrated. What I liked most about it was the scrub and the consistency of the gel. The scrub contains…

REVIEW: Mixed feelings about Ferrero ValParaiso Chocolate
This week I tried 3 different types of Ferrero ValParaiso Chocolate. I usually like Ferrero products and I kind of expected these ones to be tasty. I was happy to find these little packages because I’ve seen the big ones before but I didn’t want to buy them since I didn’t know which flavor to choose and if I would like them. What I liked The good thing about these chocolates is that the chocolate itself is good quality. Also, I like the fact that the filling is 99% fruit. Another good thing is that they are not extremely sweet. What I didn’t like What I didn’t like was that there was…
