REVIEW: Yves Rocher Exfoliating Raspberry Peppermint Shower Gel

    How they describe it:

THE PLEASURE OF AN EXFOLIATING SHOWER GEL WITH 100% FRUIT SEEDS AND ENERGIZING BENEFITS.

Energizing Exfoliating Shower Gel – Raspberry Peppermint

    LES PLAISIRS NATURE

    Cost: 8 €

    What I wanted

This time I really expected from my shower gel 4 things:

    1. To be exfoliating
    2. To smell nice
    3. To be natural, if not BIO at least to approach this standard
    4. To be affordable

There are 2 similar products that I used before and if you click their name, you will find their reviews: Sabon Jasmine (16.00 €) and CLINIQUE Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream (€32.00).

The problem with these 2 is that they are too expensive, they don’t smell very nice and they don’t seem very natural. Both products were great, especially the Clinique one. It really left the skin very very soft and beautiful and I think it is even suitable for troubled skin. But this time I really wanted a cheaper, nicer smelling and more natural product.

My experience with Yves Rocher Exfoliating Shower Gel

I bought this Raspberry Peppermint Shower Gel from Yves Rocher. In the past I also used the coffee shower gel, which I liked, so I hoped I will like this one too.

In terms of quality, it is way beneath Sabon and Clinique. The exfoliating part is not very good (I would have preferred much more exfoliating particles), although it left my skin feeling kind of soft but very dry… extremely dry!

I opened the bottle in the shop and smelled it and it had an average smell, but once I used it, the smell was bad, like puke.

It is an average shower gel, although I think that some drug store shower gels are better. I guess the price is a little bit too high but then again I guess it is more natural than other gels, so this should explain why it is pricey.

    Conclusions

I don’t think I will repurchase it. It is too expensive for what it has to offer and it drys my skin!

I will continue my search in finding the perfect exfoliating shower gel. If I find it, be sure I will let you know!

    Love and kisses!

  • REVIEW: Sabon Delicate Jasmine Body Gel Polisher

REVIEW: Sabon Delicate Jasmine Body Gel Polisher

I’ve received the Sabon Delicate Jasmine Body Gel Polisher as a gift from a good friend. It is basically an exfoliating shower gel and it costs approximately $19.00. I believe paying 19 dollars for a shower gel is A LOT and the gel should do wonders at this price.

I’ve taken this photo when I had already used a third of the bottle, but now, at the moment of writing the article, the bottle is empty.

It was an excellent product, it smelled nice (literally “delicate”) and left the skin soft and moderately hydrated.

What I liked most about it was the scrub and the consistency of the gel. The scrub contains hard grains, divided in very small pieces, that really “polish” your body in a very enjoyable way.

Although I did like the Sabon Delicate Jasmine Body Gel Polisher, I wouldn’t repurchase it. It is too expensive for not being more “bio”…

  • REVIEW: Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream

REVIEW: Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream

This is by far the most expensive shower gel (not a gel actually, more like a cream) that I’ve ever had, although I wouldn’t say it is by far the best one I’ve ever had, but it definitively makes top 5.

In Germany it costs 32 EUR but I in U.S.A. I found it with 26.50 DOLLARS. 😐 I don’t know what’s the deal, but anyway, it is an expensive product.

    Pros

The best thing about it is the action it has on the body. It really (but really) makes the skin smooth. Its consistency is the best of any other exfoliating cream I’ve ever used. The exfoliating grains are perfect (as number, density and size) and they blend perfectly with the cream.

Also, I believe that for people with mild acneea or blackheads on the back, this product would be good, since it is so smoothing. It really leaves a sparkling skin (without actually containing any glitter)!

    Cons

For me there are 3 things that will not make me repurchase the product. If it would had been only one of the three, instead of all of them, I would have repurchased it.

    1. It is too expensive
    2. It is not BIO
    3. I don’t like the smell (but this is a personal opinion)

Maybe if it was just like it is, but cheaper, I would definitely repurchase it. Or if it was BIO, maybe this would be the perfect excuse for its price. Or, of course, if it would have a great great smell, I would have repurchased it.

    Conclusions

It is, for sure, a premium quality product. I’ve read some reviews on their site and, if they were written by real customers and not written by Clinique’s own staff, people seem to really like it. I will not repurchase it, but I did recommend it to a friend.
