REVIEW: Yves Rocher Sérum exceptionnel – Cheveux sublimés & fortifiés

I always use some kind of serum for my hair, but I am never satisfied by any of them, so I always look for something better.

This time I bought the Yves Rocher Sérum exceptionnel – Cheveux sublimés & fortifiés, the motto meaning that it should make your hair stronger and nicer looking.

I was very disappointed with this product because it did absolutely nothing for my hair, except making it a little bit sticky.

It didn’t prevent split ends, it didn’t calm my frizzy hair, it didn’t make it more shiny or “sublime” and my hair definitely didn’t feel “stronger”. Also, because this is a sticky serum, I had trouble combing my hair after applying this Yves Rocher serum…

I definitely regret buying this product and I certainly don’t recommend it to anyone.

  • REVIEW: Yves Rocher Face Cream – Day ELIXIR JEUNESSE

REVIEW: Yves Rocher Face Cream – Day ELIXIR JEUNESSE

I received a sample of this cream on my first purchase from Yves Rocher.

On their website it has the following description:

Yves Rocher Face Cream – Day,
REPAIRS SKIN AND PROTECTS AGAINST POLLUTION,
    Repair + Anti-pollution,
    ELIXIR JEUNESSE

I am not a big fan of face creams and I will probably not buy it again, but I did use it on my face and all I can say is that:

    • The hydrating action is moderate and the skin might feel a little bit greasy afterwards.
    • The skin absorbs it in a moderate amount of time.
    • It is a cream, kind of thick. Definitely not a gel, a serum or a light cream.
    • It didn’t “solve” my flaky skin. Before applying foundation, I had to apply another hydrating face cream. This was not enough.

What I really LOVED about this cream was the scent.

It is funny how memories are being stored in our mind and the way they work… the olfactive memory is a very distinct kind. It somehow gains a life of its own. Sometimes I smell something and I associate it with a certain feeling, and I am 100% sure that I lived a moment where I encountered that smell, but I cannot recollect the visual memory. It is strange… it is exactly what it’s happening with this smell. I kind of suspect where the memory is from approximately 10 years ago, when my lovely flatmate probably used a similar cream with a similar smell. Maybe that’s why I like it. Or maybe it is just a really nice smell. It doesn’t smell like something you would find in a plant, it is a very distinctive, special, unique and yet absolutely simple smell.

In Germany it costs 36,00€. I don’t think that it is an expensive face cream, but it is not a cheap one either and the quality is not satisfying.

I will not repurchase this cream, but I will just continue to use the little guy until it runs out.

  • REVIEW: Yves Rocher Brillance (Shine) Hair Conditioner

REVIEW: Yves Rocher Brillance (Shine) Hair Conditioner

I bought this hair conditioner from a local Yves Rocher store, hoping it will make my hair soft and shiny. I payed 4 EUR on it, so it wasn’t very expensive, nor very cheap.

    What I liked

    • The price is OK.
    • It has 98% natural ingredients.
    • The hair looks slightly shinier, although there is no miraculous effect.
    • It has only 150ml, but it lasts long.

    What I disliked

    • The first time I used it, it had an average smell. Then, it just went worse and worse. Now it smells like dead fish. Happily, the smell washes off and it doesn’t persist in the hair. Maybe the bad smell is because of the natural ingredients… I don’t know, but I don’t like it and it bothers me.
    • The hair is frizzy and hard to comb. I used better conditioners with same amount of shine, but better management of all hair problems.

    Will I repurchase?

No. I will continue searching for a better conditioner.

  • REVIEW: Yves Rocher Exfoliating Raspberry Peppermint Shower Gel

REVIEW: Yves Rocher Exfoliating Raspberry Peppermint Shower Gel

    How they describe it:

THE PLEASURE OF AN EXFOLIATING SHOWER GEL WITH 100% FRUIT SEEDS AND ENERGIZING BENEFITS.

Energizing Exfoliating Shower Gel – Raspberry Peppermint

    LES PLAISIRS NATURE

    Cost: 8 €

    What I wanted

This time I really expected from my shower gel 4 things:

    1. To be exfoliating
    2. To smell nice
    3. To be natural, if not BIO at least to approach this standard
    4. To be affordable

There are 2 similar products that I used before and if you click their name, you will find their reviews: Sabon Jasmine (16.00 €) and CLINIQUE Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream (€32.00).

The problem with these 2 is that they are too expensive, they don’t smell very nice and they don’t seem very natural. Both products were great, especially the Clinique one. It really left the skin very very soft and beautiful and I think it is even suitable for troubled skin. But this time I really wanted a cheaper, nicer smelling and more natural product.

My experience with Yves Rocher Exfoliating Shower Gel

I bought this Raspberry Peppermint Shower Gel from Yves Rocher. In the past I also used the coffee shower gel, which I liked, so I hoped I will like this one too.

In terms of quality, it is way beneath Sabon and Clinique. The exfoliating part is not very good (I would have preferred much more exfoliating particles), although it left my skin feeling kind of soft but very dry… extremely dry!

I opened the bottle in the shop and smelled it and it had an average smell, but once I used it, the smell was bad, like puke.

It is an average shower gel, although I think that some drug store shower gels are better. I guess the price is a little bit too high but then again I guess it is more natural than other gels, so this should explain why it is pricey.

    Conclusions

I don’t think I will repurchase it. It is too expensive for what it has to offer and it drys my skin!

I will continue my search in finding the perfect exfoliating shower gel. If I find it, be sure I will let you know!

    Love and kisses!

  • What Santa Paws Brought Me and My Cat For Christmas

What Santa Paws Brought Me and My Cat For Christmas

Hi, everyone! A few days ago I was visited by Santa Paws! Me and my cat Midi received very cute gifts. I got a Yves Rocher Festive Shower Gel and Midi got a Whiskas treat. Please notice my cute little Christmas tree with the gifts 🙂 .

The Yves Rocher Festive Shower Gel smells really nice. It is part of the Yves Rocher Christmas Collection with “Marvelous Berries”. I’ve used it with a big, fluffy massage sponge and it made tons of foam, which I liked a lot. There are 2 things I like most about this product:

    • It has 98% natural ingredients;
    • Its cute, Christmassy package.

Midi hasn’t eaten his gift yet, but I am sure he will love it!

Until Midi eats his gift from Santa Paws, this nosy lemur wants to see what we got for Christmas.

It may seem he is trying to steal Midi’s gift, but in fact he is just checking. He is a really nice guy, and so is Santa Paws who got us these lovely presents!
