How much playtime does a cat need per day?

Here is the thing with my sweet cat:

Every time around 10-11pm, her pupils dilate and she stars to show me her favorite toy.

She won’t play alone with the toy, but she will show me (if she has the chance) that she is in mood for play.

If I won’t play with her, she will eventually go to sleep, but she will have an unsettled sleep overnight. Also, she will be less happy.

So, how long does she like to play?

My cat is 8 years old and she needs to play for about one hour.

You might think that one hour is too much. How could you spend one precious hour every day in order to play with your pet-friend? Well… it might seem a lot, but it is also relaxing and somehow therapeutic.

A cat is not a toy. You have responsibilities towards it, you have to take care of it and make sure it has a lovely life.

So, your moral duty is to play with your cat, but you will also benefit from this interaction.

If you aren’t a cat person, obviously one hour each night to play with your cat is unbearable. But if you love cats, you should have fun playing with them.

    How old is my cat?

If you think that only young cats like to play, well my cat is 8 years old, which in human years means 48. She is not a young cat, but she is very active and loves to play.

She also stays outdoors for about 3-4 hours each day. There, she interacts with other cats, she climbs trees etc.

I don’t know how it would be if she would stay only indoor. She would probably need 2 hours playtime…

    Every cat is different

    Obviously.

As we, humans, are different, so are our cats. One will love to sleep, one will love to cuddle, one will be a gourmand and another will be very very active.

My cat loves a little bit of all, but especially loves to eat and play. She might already be a little bit too fluffy, but thankfully she exercises a lot 🙂

  • REVIEW: Bioderma Hand Cream

I’ve been using the Bioderma hand cream for the past few years. It was love at first sight. My hands were very dry, it was winter and the cold was aggravating my skin condition. I had been using other hand creams, but only with this one my hands really remoistured.

    What I love about it

The consistency: the Bioderma hand cream is not oily, it is kind of thick, but still you can easily apply it.

The moisturizing effect: this is the most moisturizing hand creme that I ever had. I started to use it when my hands were already chipped and nothing could repair them. This one did.

The package: small package, doesn’t leak, doesn’t get oily.

The smell: Best smell for a hand cream.

Goes fast into skin: My skin absorbs it very very fast (5 minutes maximum).

What I don’t like about it

Nothing, really. I use it all the time and I don’t know what could possibly other hand cream have to offer so I would buy it instead of Bioderma.

  • My favorite “How to cut your own long, straight hair” Youtube Video

My favorite “How to cut your own long, straight hair” Youtube Video

Since these days everyone is cutting their own hair at home, I thought it might be a good ideea for me to try it too. Also, I had a lot of split ends lately and I needed to get rid of them.

I started by doing some research. I watched a lot of Youtube Videos about hair cutting. There are many girls who give advice on how to cut your own hair, but I needed to find a video that was suitable for my straight, long hair. I also wanted a more complex cut, to make sure more split ends get cut, not only the ones from the bottom.

After all the videos that I’ve watched, I definitely have a favorite one. It is created by MsRosieBea. She is from England and studied fashion design. I like her style.

This is the simple haircutting tutorial. I also have a favorite advanced Layered Haircut Tutorial.

So, here are the steps she follows, which I also followed and I can guarantee you that they work!

Step 1. Cut the “Babushka” in a straight line

First of all you have to have your hair washed and wet. I also used a very good hair balm that made my hair silky and very easy to comb, so I wouldn’t have any hair breakage.

Then you need to part your hair in 2 and bring the 2 halfs together under your chin. Tie them thight with a hair band.

Then cut in a straight line.

This will create slightly rounded corners on your hair, when you will wear it on your back.

Step 2. Cut the sides in a vertical, straight line

Tie some hair from the top of your head.

Part the rest of the hair in 2. Take one part, comb it and lift it diagonally, then cut it in a straight, vertical line.

This will create a slightly progressive cut that I find aesthetically pleasing and it also helps with my split ends, since more hairs that are shorter get also cut.

Step 3. Tie this hair at the back of your head

So we’re done with half of our hair. Now it must be tied on the back and then we will work with the top hair.

Step 4. Cut the “little Babushka”

Release the top hair and create a “little Babuschka” under your chin. Then cut it straight.

Now, in this video she says at the beginning that she has already trimmed her front shorter hair, so she won’t be doing it again in this video. I found the technique in another of her videos:

Step 5. Trim the front hair

Separate a tiny area on your front. That will be the hair that will look shorter and will frame your face.

Comb all of it in front of your face and cut it in a straight line.

So, there it is, MsRosieBea’s final result:

I think she is very beautiful and her hair looks stunning.

TIP: There is a little technique that helps your hair cut to look more natural. After each cut, you have to trim it just from place to place, just 1-2 mm, with the scissors placed parallel with the hair.

Hope this helps, it surely helped me.

Here you can watch the whole video. Also, you can check MsRosieBea’s other social media pages:

    Instagram

I also tried another technique, which is a little bit more complicated. The girl in this video is Kristy Maccone:

  • REVIEW: Kerastase Extensioniste Hair Balm

    REVIEW: Kerastase Extensioniste Hair Balm

My favorite hair balm is Kerastase Extensioniste. Until I started to use the Kerastase hair balm, I used the Moroccanoil Hair Conditioner. I liked it, but then I’ve discovered the Extensioniste line and I liked it better.

I always use the Kerastase conditioner after I use the Kerastase Extensioniste shampoo.

I always leave the conditioner for a few minutes.

It is very hydrating, but doesn’t weight down the hair.

It also leaves the hair very easy to comb and gives a nice healthy shine.

    It also smells nice.

  • REVIEW: Bioderma Node Shampoo fuide non-detergent

REVIEW: Bioderma Node Shampoo fuide non-detergent

I bought one time the Bioderma Node Shampoo fuide non-detergent. I used it, it was ok, but I don’t think I will buy it again. Not because it wasn’t good enough, but because I prefer other types of shampoos.

What I liked about the Bioderma Node Shampoo fuide non-detergent

Although it is very fluid, there is enough quantity in the bottle to last for approx. 2 months.

The hair looks good when using this shampoo. It is definitely better than other shampoos from the same price range.

It is suitable for all hair types, so those who don’t have time or hate the diversity of shampoos can pick this one and be almost sure that it is ok for them.

It goes easy with the scalp. It is itch free 🙂

    What I didn’t like

At first it did some dandruff, but then it was ok. Or maybe it was just a coincidence…

  • Cool sounds: Amparo Battaglia Lopez aka Catnapp (from Unorthodox)

Cool sounds: Amparo Battaglia Lopez aka Catnapp (from Unorthodox)

I was watching the Netflix series “Unorthodox” when, suddenly, a great club scene came up. The music was very interesting and the singer intriguing.

I had to search it. I found the Youtube video and I was surprised by the number of comments saying that, just as me, they loved it in the series and searched for it online.

    Unorthodox club scene music

There were 2 songs in the club scene and both of them were performed by Catnapp.

The first song song is called Thunder.

    Here it is:

I didn’t post the clip from the movie because it is so good made that you should watch it entirely and I don’t want to spoil that experience.

The song sounds like Sunbeam – Outside World.

The vibe of “Thunder” reminds me somehow of The Knife – ‘Pass This On’, but it is special in its own way.

The Unorthodox version of the “Thunder” is better than the original Catnapp version because it has a cool violin effect.

I also loved the fact that the whole club scene happens in Berlin. I don’t think there is any other place on this planet so suitable for such a scene (again, see it for yourself).

The second song is called “The Mover”.

    Who is Catnapp?

    Source: https://www.facebook.com/catnappofficial

Catnapp is a woman from Argentina that lives and sings in Berlin. Her name is Amparo Battaglia Lopez. She reminds me of Yolandi Visser from Die Antwoord. Probably Amparo hates this comparison, but you can’t deny some similarities.

I would love to know more about her, but she seems quite shy about her private life.

You can follow her on her Youtube account, Instagram or Facebook.

  • REVIEW: OPI Plumping Top Coat

    REVIEW: OPI Plumping Top Coat

Here is my review on Opi plumping top coat. I also tried the classic OPI top coat and the Infinite shine OPI top coat.

The plumping top coat is more expensive than the previous two. I expected it to be good and it was.

Does it really give that gel effect?

Yes, it does. I don’t think it will make your nails exactly as if you had gel on them, but it does a pretty good job nevertheless.

    Does it dry fast?

    YES, finally YES.

My classic OPI top coat, the “Vernis de Protection”, didn’t dry as fast as I hoped, moreover, some months after I opened the bottle, it dried very slowly. But the plumping one has no problem with dring.

How long do my nails last?

This is a tricky question. I don’t know what I am doing wrong, but sometimes they last 10 days, other times they last 2 days. Probably, if you apply the top coat super good, the nails should last 10 days with light housework.

  • REVIEW: LOrĂ©al Professionnel Mythic Oil Shampoo for Normal Hair

REVIEW: LOréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Shampoo for Normal Hair

I tried for my fine, long hair the LOréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Shampoo for Normal Hair. There is another shampoo in a similar bottle that is suitable for thick hair. So I bought the normal one for my fine hair.

    Did it nourish my hair?

Yes, but not as much as I would have liked. It was O.K., but nothing outstanding. I still needed to apply balm and other products during the blow-dry process in order to make my hair soft and shiny.

Did it make my hair greasy?

No, not at all. Perhaps the “thick” version would have, but this one did not.

BUT, although it didn’t make my hair greasy, however it didn’t prolonged the time between the washes and I still needed to wash my hair every 2 days.

    Does it smell good?

Yes, although I am not a big fan of “smelly” products. In fact, it smelled amazing and had a really strong smell, almost like a perfume.

I, for one, prefer products that smell nice only when I use them. I don’t want them to continue to smell after I leave the shower because their smell interferes with my perfume. But this is just my opinion…

Will I repurchase the LOréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Shampoo?

No, never. It didn’t stand out with absolutely nothing. There are other great shampoos that I would prefer instead of it, even though they are more expensive.

  • My List of Cartoons for Grown-Ups

My List of Cartoons for Grown-Ups

This is the list of all cartoons for grown-ups that I’ve watched. I liked all of them (otherwise I wouldn’t have watched them). They are not in a particular order, although I could say that I especially liked Futurama and King of the Hill.

    1. South Park

Very funny and fresh. I remember tons of funny moments from it (from instance, when Stan gets vaginitis from being vegan and tiny vaginas appeared all over his skin, until he could become a giant pussy).

Some seasons were better than others, but all in all they did a pretty good job. I am glad they still produce it.

    2. Simpsons

First I liked it, then I hated it. Now I just find it boring. One of the best parts I remember is the real life couch gag. Pretty cool.

    3. Futurama

From Simpson’s creators, but a much better job. I loved it for its original ideas. I remember dozens of funny and interesting moments. There also are a lot of mems from Futurama – and it is not a coincidence. The show really provides with funny stuff.

There are some funny lines that remained in the public’s memory. Like these ones for instance:

“I am going to build my own theme park… with blackjacks and hookers”.

    Or:

    “Death by snu-snu”

    Or:

    “Good news, everyone”

And there are a lot of funny characters and situations… I surely hope they will make other seasons, even though it ended in 2013…

    4. Family guy

Not my favorite, and not my least favorite. I like watching it, but sometimes it gets boring. Has tons of jokes, but most of them aren’t very funny. All in all, it is a relaxing show. I hope they will continue to produce it, even if it’s not the best.

    5. American Dad

    Seth MacFarlane strikes again 🙂

I don’t know why he did American Dad. The first season was good, the others were less interesting. Eventually, it ended and I can’t say I crave it.

    6. The Cleveland Show

Another Seth MacFarlane show. This one was funnier than American Dad. It lasted only a few seasons, but I liked it. I would still watch it if it would still exist.

    7. Bob’s Burgers

After I watched the first episode from Bob’s Burgers, I thought to myself: “Why would anyone watch such nonsense? People screaming, flat jokes, uninteresting characters…”. Then I watched some more and I was entertained. Not all episodes are great, and in fact most of them are boring, but some of them are really-really good.

Even though a lot of people like Louise’s character, I find it very annoying. Maybe because of the hat…

    8. The critic

This is not your average sitcom. It is about a boring film critic. And the cartoon is kind-of boring, but it is ok, since it doesn’t aim to be super-mega entertaining. If you just want to watch something nice before falling to sleep, you can watch The Critic.

    9. Corner Gas Station

This Canadian cartoon was made after a real tv-series. It hasn’t great jokes, but it is relaxing. I wouldn’t watch tons of seasons though.

    10. F is for Family

A little bit too hysteric for my type, but I did enjoy watching it. It lacks good jokes. I don’t know if I would watch all the seasons.

Maybe they should tone it down. It is unnecessarily aggressive.

    11. King of the Hill

    Propane… and propane accessories.

Loved this show. It is more serious than the others and it is very well made. It also has good jokes, although they are different from what people expect.

Also, unlike in other cartoons, in this one the characters evolve. It is still a sitcom, things still tend to get back to “normal” at the end of the episode, but something will always be a little bit different because no situation leaves the characters unchanged.

I loved its sarcasm. Unfortunately, I don’t think people “got” it, otherwise, I guess that the show would have been more popular.

It is also one of the very few shows that actually has a beginning and an end, which makes it satisfying.

P.S. One of its creators, Mike Judge, also wrote and directed Idiocracy (2006). Good movie.

    12. Brickleberry

Brickleberry and its spin off, Paradise PD, are the craziest cartoons from my list. And this is why they have a special place in my heart. It was so so refreshing to watch them. Unfortunately, people didn’t appreciate them and they got canceled. I still hope that there will be a revival.

    13. Paradise PD

Brickleberry wasn’t successful enough, so they changed it a little bit and created “Paradise PD”. I liked them both, although I prefer Brickleberry because it takes place far away from the everyday city life and its characters are more powerful. The only thing that I liked more in Paradise PD was the dog that replaced the bear. I didn’t like the bear in Brickleberry.

There is also this meme, but I don’t remember from which one of the shows it is.

I so hope that these 2 guys, Roger Black, Waco O’Guin, will create some more Brickleberry, or at least Paradise PD. The world needs something as fresh as these shows.

    14. BoJack Horseman

This cartoon is a little bit different. It isn’t as funny as the others and it is more of a dark-comedy / drama animation.

It is smarty and relaxing to watch, although sometimes it gets a little bit too depressing.

All in all, I did enjoy a lot watching it and I hope they will continue to produce it for a long-long time.

It also had some really interesting episodes, especially the one when BoJack goes in the underwater world.

    15. Bordertown

Not very funny, but kind of nice. Good too watch when you have nothing else to watch. Unfortunately it only has 13 episodes because it got canceled.

    16. The Goode Family

From the creators of King of the Hill.

I don’t know what this “Goode Family” was supposed to be.

Boring show and boring plot, but it is not annoying to watch.

    17. Fugget about it

This canadian show is about a family of retired gangsters. The show is non-conformist, has a few very good jokes and it is a real pleasure to watch it. I particularly liked the originality of the family type.

    18. Crash Canyon

Simple and only a few jokes.

But I enjoyed watching it. It is chill and relaxing.

You can watch the whole series here:

    19. Hoops

A little bit too ADHD for me, not very funny either, but I somehow liked it.

    20. …

    To be continued…

If you need some inspiration with what you should watch next, here is a wikipedia list of adult animated television series.

  • Carli Bybel – One of the first YouTubers I started following

Carli Bybel – One of the first YouTubers I started following

    Who is Carli Bybel?

    Source: https://www.instagram.com/carlibel/

Carli Bybel is a YouTuber / beauty guru that now has 6.2 millions followers on YouTube.

She has been posting videos since 2011. She started with hair and makeup tutorials.

She is 29 y.o. She is pretty open regarding her family and her mother, sister, father and other relatives often appear in her videos.

She continues to this day to post makeup and hair tutorials and she also does vlogs.

    Why is Carli special?

There are thousands and thousands YouTubers that hope to achieve popularity. But why did Carli succeed? Was it pure luck or does she really have something special?

Well, she is kind of special, because of 3 reasons:

    1. She is sweet, funny, relaxed, humble, loves cats and has a smooth-ish voice. Of these qualities, she has the right amount of each, so that it appears good on screen.
    2. She is open. Even though she obviously keeps some things private (like any other normal person would do), Carli shares a great deal from her life. She is authentic, she doesn’t hide many stuff. For instance, I laughed when, in a video, she opened her pants so that she could eat better.

    3. She is “the girl next door”. She literally is the kind of girl that you would have for a neighbor. She is tangible, she seems to be a normal person, not a fake doll.

    4. Her filming and editing skills are good. There are many tutorials on Youtube, but not many are well filmed. Either the face/object is too close, or there is too much zoom, or the music is too loud or the talking is annoying etc. Carli’s videos are just well made and that’s that.

The first Carli Bybel’s video that I watched

I watched my first Carli video 6 or 7 years ago, when Megan Fox was fashionable (not saying that now she is not, but in the past Transformers and Jennifer’s Body really gave her a boost). I wanted to achieve a Megan Fox makeup look and there weren’t at that time so many tutorials on Youtube. Carli did one of those. And I liked her the most. Here is the video:

After watching this video, I pressed the “Follow” button and here I am, 6 years later, still watching here videos.

    Who is Carli Bybel dating?

And now let’s get to some trivialities. Who is she dating? Well, Brett Cap (he also has a YouTube Channel), her ex-boyfriend, was been in a lot of her videos, but they separated one or two years ago. He seemed a nice person, but probably they had their differences. Success always comes with new milestones to cross. The just didn’t cross this one, sadly.

This is one of their last pictures together. It was their 4 years anniversary. It’s funny cuz behind them is written “Happy” but they don’t really seem very happy here. I think that in this time they were fighting a lot. But you can also see in this picture that they are like brothers, that they know each other and love each other.

If you didn’t know, they were friends since childhood.

She was 7, he was 10

And this story of Carli and Brett reminds me of a song…

    The lyrics are like this:

“I was five and she was six
We rode on horses made of sticks
I wore black and she wore white
She would always win the fight
Bang bang, she shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
    Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down”

    Ninja cutting onions…

Anyhow, now she is dating a new guy. She has been kind of secretive about this guy, which is understandable. I don’t know much about him, because he didn’t play an important part in her videos as Brett did.

I know all Carli Bybel’s fans community secretly hopes she and Brett will be together again, marry, have children and live happily ever after. Who knows, maybe there is still hope that they will forgive each other and go past their differences.

    Who is Carli Bybel’s BFF?

Another important part in her videos has been played by her best friend, Moo.

Moo has been a faithful friend since always. She seems very nice and what I like most about her is that she doesn’t look with envy to Carli, that she is supportive and genuinely gentle.

Here they did a Boyfriend VS Best Friend Q&A. It was very funny.

Moo’s real name is Nicole Gadino.

She has been offering mobile tanning services.

Now she finally decided to start her own YouTube Channel. Until now she posted only two videos, but I hope she will post more.

    Whishes for the future

Well, I wish that Carli will be happy and both Nicole and Brett will have also success with their YouTube Channels.

I hope that despite money and success, Carli will stick to the right path and continue to provide us with quality content.

P.S. How do we pronounce “Bybel”? Like the “Bible” or like “Biber”?
